Can converting images change the appearance?
Yes. Lossy formats and quality settings may introduce visible changes. Use the before/after preview and the highest-quality preset for important details.
What happens to transparency and animation?
Transparent areas become white in JPEG. WebP and PNG support transparency. Animated images are processed as still frames. Re-encoding may remove EXIF and other metadata.
